Then, by all means - paint.

Hello loves. I know. I've been rather quiet lately. Couple of reasons. Firstly - it seems like we never quite have enough time in summer in Minnesota. Secondly, I hadn't been able to log into to Wix (company providing my hosting) for awhile. Got that fixed! I'm tempted to leave it at that, but I think I will admit that - not being able to log in - happens when you mis-spell your own e-mail address! lol.
Well I suppose the (not so) secret - third reason is that I simply haven't been feeling very inspired lately. In fact - in a fit of low self esteem , I don't really even feel like being looked at. I know the irony. I perform belly dance, and burlesque and yet I have these feelings too. Even I can't figure that one out. I'll belly dance - baring my midriff, and perform burlesque (baring a whole lot more than my midriff) but..... don't look at me. But then I came across this quote -
"If you hear a voice within you say “you cannot paint,” then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced". –Vincent Van Gogh
Yup, it's by *that* Vincent Van Gogh. Vincent must have dealt with that negative yappy voice in his head, too. And yet he is (arguably) one of the best known Post-Impressionist in the world. The man who brought us "Starry Night" and "The Night Café" struggled with feeling not good enough to paint. If he had listened to the voice in his head, we wouldn't have works like -

So lovelies , I will keep on keeping on - I love me - dancing, even if my brain tries to say otherwise. I hope we all have success telling the yappy voice where to go … Just remember "Starry Night".
